Open Letter to Global Leaders Gathered at COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt – Interested in that?

Excellencies everybody:

By 2030, historians will be surprised to wonder how the United Nations in previous decades proposed sweeping climate-related measures completely failed to halt global warming. demand, but would instead have unintended consequences due to its unprecedented negative impact on the world’s prosperity and well-being.

Surname one would wonder why so many people at the time had no doubt of an “existential climate crisis”. The story of that crisis was based on outdated “overheated” computer models, which in turn were widely supported by the mainstream media. They will consider that beyond the belief that a senior United Nations official in September 2022 boldly stated that “We own science and we think the world should know it and platforms (social networks) as well. “

Indeed, why did the UN and IPCC ignore Clintel’s letters (most recent in October 2021), which pointed to serious scientific flaws in the IPCC’s Sixth Assessment Report? Why does the IPCC reject any open debate about these flaws? Doesn’t the UN realize that Clintel’s global network now embodies more objective scientific knowledge than what exists in the IPCC?

Surname will wonder why the world doesn’t loudly protest the spread of the superstition that climate science is fully understood (“Science Solved”, United Nations and politicians declare). That superstition has unfortunately led to legislation on completely unnecessary social engineering measures with zero net CO.2 goal (“mitigation”).

Indeed, why does the UN then not want to show the world that the mitigation measures it proposes are scientifically meaningless, not technically feasible, not economically viable and ultimately is socially unacceptable?

And why don’t they acknowledge that mitigation even on a global scale – as demonstrated during the 2020 pandemic – will have an imperceptible impact on the climate?

And why don’t they want the world to know about the fact that CO2 is an essential building block for life on earth? Add CO2 is indispensable in making the earth greener. Look at all events, more CO2 more likely to bring net benefit than net harm!

Surname also wonder why an extremely expensive transition to intermittent renewable energy is pursued without realizing that the transition will lead to major economic problems.

Indeed, why didn’t people then realize that reliable power supply with solar panels and wind turbines is technically impossible without the availability of large-scale electrical energy storage? at an affordable price in the future?

And why didn’t people realize then that mass generation of solar and wind power would create a serious shortage of materials like copper and neodymium.

And why is it then that conventional fossil fuel power plants are banned, especially in Africa, when there is still no reliable and reasonable alternative? Much of the severe energy crisis is wrongly blamed on the war in Ukraine; The reality, however, is that world leaders have failed to promote investment in reliable conventional power generation to sustain the economy and social stability.

Lucky, today is not 2030 and we still have time to make the necessary changes. What is needed to make that happen?

Here are three suggestions for you, global political leaders:

  1. Depoliticizing climate science, discarding computer models that do not conform to reality, focusing instead on real-world climate observations and the latest climate science, listen carefully objective interventions from independent experts.
  2. Change climate policy from a pointless mitigation approach to a successful adaptation approach. Mitigation is extremely expensive and has never saved a human life and will do little to change the ever-changing climate. Adaptation, on the other hand, is affordable, can focus precisely, and has saved millions of lives. Adaptation is certainly the way to go in climate policy.
  3. Invest in the expansion and replenishment of the world’s oil and gas reserves. Let’s be real, the world will still need oil and gas for a few more decades. At the same time, go ahead completely by developing nuclear power, the energy source of the future.

Ladies and gentlemen, you will meet at COP27 in Egypt in early November, seemingly to push for the continuation of a failed global climate policy. It would be a crime against the people of Africa to ask them to base their energy system on intermittent wind and solar. After all, that would push the more than 1.3 billion people there into poverty. Economic development cannot happen without a reasonable and reliable energy supply.

Africa must make full use of affordable indigenous fossil fuels for electricity generation, with future plans for a network of modern nuclear power plants. With plenty of affordable energy, a clean water supply can also be guaranteed.

Next, full effort should be made to adopt adaptive technology, especially to grow tailor-made crops (“precision farming”) and to ensure resistance to extreme weather (“reduce risk minimization”). As you know, those are the real and urgent needs of Africa.

The above points are Clintel’s message to all global political leaders as they arrive in their private jets to attend the COP27 meeting at the luxury resort of Sharm El-Sheikh. We implore you, our political leaders, to unite with the everyday realities that are eroding the poverty of the forgotten peoples living on the African continent in the shadow of your flight. you.

On behalf of Clintel ambassadors,
Guus Berkhout
Chairman of Clintel
