Nissan Qashqai facelift 2025 revealed, about to launch in Australia

The Nissan Qashqai 2025 has benefited from a comprehensive facelift, with the revised crossover sporting a bold new front end and new features.

Nissan Australia has confirmed the update Qashqai Launch is expected before 2025, although it is yet to confirm local specifications.

“We are delighted with the newly launched facelifted Qashqai. We anticipate passenger arrivals by the end of 2024,” the automaker said in a statement.

The Qashqai’s new look ditches the previous chrome grille surround, in favor of much wider air intakes that Nissan says were inspired by ancient Japanese armor scales. This is finished in gloss black and satin chrome.

The slimmer LED headlights now feature an adaptive high beam function and produce a wider beam despite being smaller than the headlights on the pre-facelift model.

On high-end versions, the daytime running lights become sequential turn indicators, a first for the Qashqai.

Although the shape of the taillights remains unchanged, their internal parts are shaped similarly to the radiator grille.

According to Nissan, the European-market Qashqais has 18-inch wheels for the mid-range segment, with 19- and 20-inch sizes also available in other product lines.

There’s also a new N-Design version in Europe, with body-colored trim, 20-inch wheels, black leather seats with Alcantara inserts and embossed Qashqai lettering, along with the Ambient lighting is also available on higher-end versions.

Three new colors will be available overseas, including Pearl White, Pearl Black and Deep Ocean. Customers can choose from five two-tone color combinations with a black roof, including Pearl White, Deep Ocean, Fuji Red, Magnetic Blue and Ceramic Gray.

Inside, well-equipped Qashqai variants get more Alcantara than before, including the dashboard, door panels, door armrests, center console lid and knee pads.

There’s also a patterned center console, upper console and glovebox, while higher grades get more premium seat trim, with black part-quilted premium leather or synthetic leather. tufted combination – the back contrasts with burnt ebony details.

The facelifted Qashqai benefits from significant safety upgrades, including a new birds-eye surround view camera – allowing the driver to choose one of eight different exterior camera viewing points to visualize the car from the front , rear, sides or corners.

The recalibrated automatic emergency braking system now has an emergency stop signal when the brakes are applied firmly at speeds above 60km/h.

The Qashqai’s emergency lane-keeping system activates by default, while its updated speed assist system reads traffic signs and sounds a warning if speed doesn’t reduce.

The driver can also adjust the assistance systems, increasing or decreasing their level of intrusion.

Nissan has also confirmed the Qashqai will be the first model sold in Europe with integrated Google services in the 12.3-inch infotainment system, although this is yet to be confirmed in Australia.

This includes the “Hey Google” voice assistant – capable of controlling vehicle functions such as ventilation, heated seats and navigation – while Google apps can also be added via Google Play Store.

While the Nissan Qashqai’s powertrain appears to be unchanged overseas, Australia has traditionally missed out on many variants of the SUV available in Europe.

For example, the current model for the Australian market doesn’t offer a mild hybrid system or four-wheel drive, both of which are available in Europe.

In Australia, the current Qashqai is equipped with a turbocharged 1.3-litre four-cylinder petrol engine (producing 110kW and 250Nm), driving the front wheels through a continuously variable transmission.

The Qashqai e-Power hybrid uses a 140kW/330Nm electric motor to drive the front wheels, with a 116kW turbocharged 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine acting as the on-board generator for the 2.3kWh lithium-ion battery .

Pricing and specifications for the 2025 Nissan Qashqai in Australia are expected to be revealed closer to its local launch.
