Nintendo recent Launched website in Japan Features the fastest time replay in Nintendo World Championship: NES Version tournament. Nintendo World Championship: NES Version has been out for less than a month on the Switch and it looks like we’ve already had our first major tournament scandal. While bugs aren’t actually allowed in the game, it looks like one player used a glitch to top the leaderboards in the ‘World Championship’ Donkey Kong competition.
Individual best run for ‘Donkey Kong Barrel Roll’ (with ‘S‘ rating and time of 00:15:68) used an “invisible ladder glitch” to set this leaderboard record. We’ve reviewed the in-game replay and can confirm this was the winning run.
There’s been a lot of discussion online about this, with one theory suggesting that the bug is within the game’s boundaries versus some other bug that’s not allowed. Players have reportedly had mixed results when trying to replicate the “invisible ladder bug” in this new Switch release, with others claiming to have successfully replicated it.

So if you’re very far from this record time and can’t figure out how someone could have achieved this feat, it’s because of the “invisible ladder bug.” If this is directly related to Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition, then maybe Nintendo will release a future update to the game to prevent this from happening again.
