Nintendo revealed first intro for the upcoming Movie Super Mario Bros.. The company held a Nintendo Direct to premiere the trailer, which is live at 1:05 PM PT (4:05 PM ET). Presentation broadcast simultaneously at New York Comic Con 2022.

Before showing the trailer, Nintendo Direct aired messages from several people involved with the project. Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto, Illumination’s Chris Meledandri, Mario and Bowser’s Chris Pratt and Jack Black each shared some of their thoughts on the film.
The Movie Super Mario Bros. The trailer opens with Bowser’s massive, flaming castle landing in an icy realm. Bowser and his army of Koopas attack the penguins that live there and burn the castle to find the Power Star. We then see Mario shoot out of a vertical pipe, landing on the outskirts of the Mushroom Kingdom. While trying to find his place, he meets Toad (Keegan-Michael Key) who leads him to the kingdom itself. A roster consisting of the majority of the voice cast is shown, followed by a brief scene where Luigi (Charlie Day) is chased through a river of lava and into the castle by a horde of Dry Bones. The trailer ends with the re-confirmation of the film’s April 7 release date.
After the trailer, Meledandri and Miyamoto thanked the audience for watching. Miyamoto then mentioned that finishing touches are being put into the film and said to expect a trailer in the future.
The Movie Super Mario Bros. hits theaters worldwide on April 7, 2023.
