Nicole Lynn, First Black Woman Agent to represent NFL QB

Nicole Lynn is making history as the first Black female agent to represent an NFL quarterback in the Super Bowl!

According to AfroTech, NFL agents and attorneys represent Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. Hurts and his team are gearing up to face Kansas City Captain and their quarterback Patrick Mahomes II, at Super Bowl LVII on February 12.

How Lynn and Hurts Signed Their Partnership

Lynn signed her partnership with Hurts by being brave enough to send the footballer an Instagram message. At the time, Hurts had just played his last college football game in Oklahoma and was preparing to be included in the league.

Hey, did you choose an agent? If not, I want the link.

In a conversation with Sports Illustrated, Lynn described the moment as something of a “holiday celebration.”

I didn’t expect him to even see it.

Additionally, Lynn recalls the “synergy” between her and Hurts’ stories — she attended the University of Oklahoma School of Law. And her husband played football for the University of Oklahoma years before Hurts began his college career there.

The soccer player was in the process of looking for an agent when he opened Lynn’s message.

I want to hear what she has to say.

Those who have hurt people who have faced doubters throughout their careers have seen the fire and perseverance in Lynn when they met her.

That turned me up. It lit a fire in me. It does something to me, because I know I’ll prove you wrong. But I saw that fire in Nicole. She said, ‘I’m a woman. People will ignore me. People will doubt me. They won’t respect me. But I’m getting through it, just like you.’ And that’s where we really succeeded. We had the same vision.

He explained to Sports Illustrated that he was impressed with Lynn’s determination and unwavering effort.

I know the world of agents in the NFL and all sports are dominated by men. But Nicole is really on top of her stuff. She was prepared. She knows what she’s talking about. She is hungry. And she was determined. And I find that determination never stops. Once you come across such a determined individual, that makes me a little different.

Lynn’s Additional Awards and Accomplishments

In addition to becoming the first Black woman to represent quarterbacks in the Super Bowl, Lynn is also the first female agent to represent the NFL’s Players’ Agency. According to AfroTech, the sports management company was later acquired by Lil Wayne’s pre-teen APAA Sports Agency in 2015.

But the list of achievements doesn’t end there. Lynn is also “the first black woman in league history to represent the top three draft picks” along with her client Quinnen Williams. In 2019, the New York Jets selected Williams as “their third overall pick that year,” as Insider reports.

Lynn signed her first client when she was just 26 years old. And continues to represent “more than a dozen NFL athletes” today. The 34-year-old recently joined the Klutch Sports Group and is expected to bring her “rich client portfolio” with her.

It’s safe to say that Lynn will continue to do tests in the NFL world, proving that she’s not slowing down any time soon.

Whenever someone thinks of an agent, they think of me. The first person they thought of was a Black woman. I’m Jerry Maguire – that’s who I am.
