It wouldn’t be an NFL Thanksgiving game without the memorable halftime performances in Cowboys and Lions games.
The Cowboys used their halftime show on Thanksgiving to kick off the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Operation. This is the 25th year of their partnership. The standout performer at halftime this year was country star Luke Combs.
The Lions will give their first halftime show in two years after last year’s show was canceled due to the pandemic. This year’s performer is Big Sean, who grew up in Detroit and is a huge fan of the Lions.

Cowboys Halftime Program for Thanksgiving
In its 25th year of partnership with the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign, the Cowboys will advertise holiday donations. This year’s mid-time performer is a country music star Luke Combs.

Who is Luke Combs?
Combs, 31, was named Entertainer of the Year 2021 at this year’s CMA. This will be his first time making headlines on the Thanksgiving game’s halftime show. Combs is a native of North Carolina and says he’s a huge football fan. He is also a friend of Ezekiel Elliott.
“As I am a big football fan, the Dallas Cowboys were always on our TV on Thanksgiving Day growing up, so it was an honor to be on the 25th halftime show of the Day. Thanksgiving in support of the Salvation Army Red Kettle Operation,” Combs said.
His most recent single, “What You See Ain’t Always What You Get”, has topped the Billboard 200 for all genres and peaked at #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart. This is his 11th consecutive number one single.
Lion’s Midnight Show for Thanksgiving
In the 82nd Thanksgiving game for Lions, hip-hop artists and rappers Big Sean will headline their halftime performance at Ford Field. Big Sean was most likely picked because he was a Lions fan after growing up in Detroit.
“There were people who tried to buy out the team or take ownership to help change things, and it didn’t happen,” Big Sean said in an interview with ESPN last year. “So I hope the Lions, I’m praying they get along. But, I’m a daredevil. I’ve been a lifelong Lions fan, so I’ll be with you as well. with them.”
It’s also not the first time Big Sean has performed at a Thanksgiving show. He topped the Lions show in 2015. In previous halftime shows at Detriot, Brothers Osborne, Mike Posner, Jason Derulo and Andy Grammer over the past few years.

Big Sean is a hip-hop artist and rapper who has entered the music scene over the past decade. His most recent album, titled Detroit 2 , dropped in 2020 and became his third consecutive solo album to enter the Billboard 200.
