New year, new quest – Quest with Audie Cornish

Hello friends. It’s a whole new year. And often, that means this is a time for reflection and goal setting. And I want to do it and I want to do it with you. I mean, 2022 doesn’t turn out exactly as I thought it would, RIP CNN+. But in the end, I still had to start building a community of interesting people and ideas. And that’s what Exercises are all about. And I can’t thank you enough for being a part of it.

So today I will go through our mailbox and listen to you.

My name is Brooke Townsley.

My name is Anne John and I just need to tell you…

Hi, my name is Sean McNamara. There’s something going on in Arizona here that could play a bigger role…

I’m Audie Cornish and this is the Quest. In our first six episodes, we covered everything from the OnlyFans economy to the hard work of progressive county attorneys. And it’s not always easy to get people talking to you about a brand new show. But our guests so far have been generous with their time, willing to tell their personal stories, while being patient with me and my team.

Sorry, I can’t hear you. I’m so sorry.

Sorry. All right, get your pen and paper out.

The only weird thing I would ask is during chat, please go ahead and say this is Amy or this is April, and I want to add X, Y and Z. And that’s just sound because people can’ Do not see you.

Okay. Well, are you guys ready to go? And then I’ll just-

I wanted to make sure the group was ready with their recording. I’m not allowed to press any fancy buttons, am I? Okay. We go here.

And the responses to those stories have been quite enthralling. For example, some of you completely agree with the new mothers elected to our school board that sex and gender identity are not a topic for class. One caller wanted to know why, in our episode of intergenerational trauma, we don’t discuss racism as a form of mental illness, not just something that affects mental health. . But mostly all of you have really encouraged.

I was very moved by the Mission. Everything that has been covered really affects me personally a lot.

I just have to tell you that I absolutely love Exercises. I listened to every episode of it.

I really like your new podcast.

As for what’s to come, well, we have a few ideas. But you, our listeners, have also sent us some pretty good ones. From the healthcare industry…

I want you to consider the growing role of private equity in healthcare.

Before the impact of artificial intelligence on labor…

These bots really make it difficult to reach humans and in some cases I don’t think they necessarily find the right talent.

We’re an R-rated puppet theater company. We do shows like 50 Shades of Felt, Die Hard: A Christmas Story, Jurassic Puppets…

Not to mention incurable insomnia, the decline of civic discussions, and the relationship between gun control and suicide. Listen, we’re reading all of your assignments, so keep completing them. And if you don’t already know, you can leave us a message and voicemail at 2028548802 or record a recording on your phone and email it to us at assignmentcnn, all lowercase , at gmail.com. And before we go, here’s a sneak peek at next week’s episode.

Everyone wants to put COVID behind our back and say it’s over. But now we may have more than ten million people who may be dealing with long-term COVID. This is not something we can forget.

And that’s all for this week. Full episodes of Exercises coming back next week and our goals in 2023? Have more great conversations and to hear from you. So thanks a lot for listening. Have a happy new year.
