New Digimon Story Game Will Introduce 12 Olympic Athletes as ‘Central Characters’
Digimon Con 2022 begins with a Q&A session about games, with Producer Kazumasa Habu talk about a new one Digimon Story. There is no full disclosure on the title. However, Habu has given few details on what people can expect. Specifically, it will feature 12 Olympic athletes, or Olympos XII, as “central characters”. It will also take place in the Digital World.
As the name suggests 12 Olympians are Digimon inspired by the Greek Gods. These include Apollomon, Bacchusmon, Ceresmon, Dianamon, Junomon, Jupitermon, Marsmon, Merukimon, Minervamon, Neptunemon, Venusmon, and Volcanusmon. Some of these characters appeared in Digimon Story previous entries. For example, Dianamon and Merukimon both appear in two Cyber Sleuth the game precedes this new one Digimon Story.
Bandai Namco has yet to announce any platforms for the game. There is also no official disclosure for it. It first appeared when Habu mentioned it in 2018. At the time, he noted that the team was using it. PS4 as the foundation for it.
