Naza Italia to end Ferrari distribution on April 8 – Berjaya, Sime Darby, Ital Auto top “new” rumors list

After contacting Ferrari Far East (FFE) regarding the matter earlier today, the company has provided the following response. “Ferrari SpA has announced the termination of the business partnership between Ferrari SpA and Naza Italia (Ferrari Malaysia) with effect from 8 April 2023. Naza Italia will continue to fulfill its responsibilities towards customers on sales and after-sales activities up to that point,” an FFE spokesperson said in response. paultan.org.

The company did not comment when asked who its new Malaysian partner would be, but a host of names (ultimately six) have been circulating online, many of whom are familiar with the scene. These include Sunway and two Malaysian companies that have a relationship with Ferrari through dealers, although not in Malaysia – Sime Darby in Australia and Berjaya, through the automotive retail arm HR Owen in the UK.

The latter is rumored to be among the top contenders, but another top competitor that has also been mentioned is Ital Auto, which has been importing Ferraris in Singapore since 2009. Ital has been part of the consortium. Komoco Group is multi-owned by Singapore- Malaysian billionaire Ong Beng Seng. In addition to Ferrari, Komoco handles car brands such as Hyundai and Maserati in the republic.

Separately, it was also revealed that Naza, which has organized Ferrari distribution in Malaysia since 2008, will continue to represent Maserati in the country. In addition to Maserati, Naza group also has Ducati (Next Bikes) and Suzuki (Naza Eastern Motors) as the remaining car brands.
