National University Hospital tests AI to predict Alzheimer’s disease from Korea

The National University Hospital of Singapore is collaborating with medical AI company Heuron from South Korea to test the company’s AI solutions to screen and predict Alzheimer’s disease.

Heuron has launched two solutions: Heuron AD, which provides quantitative analysis of brain atrophy, and Heuron Brain PET, which provides fast and accurate PET tracer quantification.

Their year-long study will use around 700 brain MRI images and 230 brain PET scans from healthy patients, people with mild cognitive impairment and people with Alzheimer’s disease from NUH.


IHH Healthcare provides AI sleep solutions in clinics and hospitals

IHH Healthcare, Asia’s largest private healthcare group, has offered a wearable ring powered by AI and software to diagnose sleep apnea and other sleep disorders. across its global network of clinics and hospitals.

It recently invested in Hong Kong-based medical technology company Belun, which received the first US FDA approval for its AI-powered platform for diagnosing sleep apnea .

In a press release, IHH said patients can use the Belun bracelet to test their sleep at home. The round of data collection is then compiled into clinical reports for physicians helping to manage their health.

IHH is also looking to further collaborate with Belun to address other health conditions related to sleep disorders.


Indian heart hospital switches to connected beds

As part of a new digital initiative, BM Birla Heart Hospital in India has rolled out continuous remote patient monitoring across its departments.

It partnered with Dozee for the Advanced Cardiac Care program, which included implementing the partner’s system AI-powered connected bed technology. The technology platform allows staff to remotely monitor vital patient parameters such as heart rate, blood pressure and electrocardiogram. It also tracks trends in those measurements and alerts clinicians to signs of deterioration.

BM Birla initiated the program to improve the delivery of personalized care while promoting patient safety and outcomes, and raising the standard of cardiac care delivery.
