National Health Service of India launches HMIS for small, private clinics

The National Health Service of India is about to release a hospital management information system for private clinics and small medical facilities in the country.

Based on the press release, the beta version of the software will have the following features:

  • ABDM (Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission) compliant: allows doctors to create and fetch Ayushman Bharat Medical Accounts for patients

  • Facility Management: manage calendar, appointment and patient details in one window

  • digital service: view the patient’s past health records and prescriptions and consult videos

  • electronic prescribing service: create and share digitally standardized prescriptions with options to modify prescription layouts

NHA, which is implementing ABDM, said the new HMIS solution will help accelerate the digital transformation of small clinics. It will also boost the presence of healthcare providers in the country.

The agency will conduct a virtual workshop for HMIS this week, where the agency will also receive feedback from healthcare providers for improvement.

In 2021, the city government. Delhi has announced a project to establish a cloud-based hospital information management system to connect all public hospitals across the state. The system has been commissioned for development by NEC Corporation of India, which is expected to be delivered last year.

Meanwhile, the The All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi is working to fully roll out the HMIS e-hospital developed by the National Informatics Center this year.
