According to details, this star is located about 6500 light-years from us.
Announcement of the same, Hubble Space telescope tweeted“#HappyHolidays from Hubble! This is the festive sound of RS Puppis, a dusty twinkling star. Located about 6500 light-years away, this star brightens and dims every six weeks.”
According to the information provided by Hubble, during ultrasound, pitch is assigned based on the direction from the center; as the circle moves inward, the points at the top of the circle are mapped to the higher notes and the points near the bottom are mapped to the lower notes. The brightness in the image is mapped to a louder volume.
“RS Puppis rhythmically brightens and dims over a six-week period. It is one of the brightest stars in its class known as Cepheid variable stars. Its average intrinsic luminosity is 15000 times greater than that of a Cepheid variable star. with the luminosity of our Sun,” Hubblesite said in a report. report.
The nebula flickers in brightness as pulses of light from Cepheid travel outward. Hubble took a series of images of light rays rippling through the nebula in a phenomenon known as “light echo”. Although light travels through space fast enough to overcome the distance between Earth and the Moon for more than a second, the nebula is so large that reflected light can actually be photographed as it passes through the nebula.
By observing light fluctuations in RS Puppis itself, as well as recording faint reflections of light pulses traveling through the nebula, astronomers can measure these light echoes and Very precise distance determination. The report adds that the distance to RS Puppis has been narrowed to 6,500 light-years (with an error of just 1%).
