Nakatomi after Keeneland’s many successes in the Commonwealth


Marc Detampel, Qatar Racing, and Bottle Rocket Stable’s Nakatomi undefeated in three Keeneland started, topping a field of 10 older horses in the 36th run of the $300,000 Commonwealth Stakes (G3) on April 8, going seven feathers on the main track.

The Commonwealth will take place as Thursday afternoon race with a posting time of 2:50 p.m. ET.

Coached by Wesley Ward, Nakatomi broke her maidenhood in her first inquest at Keeneland in the spring of 2021 and was followed by victory at the Bowman Mill Stakes in 2021 and then scores in a Optional race allowance on November 5 Cards under the Breeders’ Cup in his subsequent visits to the track.

3rd place in Tom Fool Handicap (G3) at Aqueduct race track in the most recent start, Nakatomi will be ridden by Tyler Gaffalione and pass 2nd place.
