Drawn from the first half
Ohio State’s back-and-forth spin has been a storyline throughout the season because of injury, and it took a new twist on Saturday. Miyan Williams start while TreVeyon Henderson sit, but Chip Trayanuma converted defender with one take on the Michigan game, emerging as the team’s next ball-carrying option.
Trayanum led all the drivers for 64 yards on eight first-half attempts, including a 24-yard dash to score against Ohio State. The product of Akron, Ohio, is the ESPN 300 player who ran in Arizona State, scoring 127 runs in 692 yards and 10 touchdowns. But he was mainly used defensively for the Buckeyes, scoring 12 tackles on Saturday. At the start of the pre-match warm-up, Trayanum conducted a number of drills shortly after Williams.
freshman Dallan Hayden, who had driven Ohio State with 248 yards of dash and four touchdowns in the previous two games, having only made one in the first half for 5 yards. Ohio State ended the round with Trayanum, not Williams or Hayden, as its signature racer. Buckeyes also lined up to collect Xavier Johnson at the end of the field, and the senior was up 18 yards by the end of the game.
Coaches usually save something for the big games, and Ohio State waited for the right moment to release the 230-pound Trayanum. He was the surprise standout in a thrilling first half at Ohio Stadium. — Adam Rittenberg
With more than five minutes left in the second half, Michigan had just 1 yard of dash left and finished the first half with just 10 yards on the ground. Werewolves average 243.8 yards of javelin per battle, but the star is running backwards Blake Corum was injured during the game against Illinois and was restricted for this game. Corum had two runs in the first of the game for Michigan, but he hasn’t hit a single moment since. His main backup, Donovan EdwardsHe is also being treated for an injury.
The Wolverines had five hasty touches in the win over the Buckeyes last season, but it was the passing game that kept Michigan’s attack going. midfielder JJ McCarthy delivered 69- and 75-yard touchdown passes Cornelius Johnson.
Both are the longest touchdown passes Ohio State has allowed as of November 2021, when it faces Nebraska. Johnson becomes first player to have 150 receive and two touchdowns in half against Ohio State since Devonta Smith of Alabama to do so in the College Football Knockout National Championship Game year 2021.
Wolverines’ offense in the first half went against the run-heavy scheme we’re used to seeing, but it was in Michigan’s favor in this head-to-head game against the Buckeyes. — Tom VanHaaren

Scary Indicator for Michigan
So far, the Wolverines have struggled to run the ball. They were held to a draw for 1 yard in the first half. According to ESPN Stats & Facts research, Michigan hasn’t beaten a team in the top five when running by that yardage in the least amount of quarters since 2004.
Big catch, big score
Stroud first connected with Harrison, who made a one-handed catch. Then in the drive, Stroud typed Emeka Egbuka for score.
