In addition to battery-electric vehicles, petrol-electric hybrid vehicles are also part of MG’s lineup in Indonesia, as shown by MG vs Hybrid at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2024 participated MG3 hybrid at the auto show.

At 4,370 mm long, 1,809 mm wide and 1,653 mm high with a 2,585 mm wheelbase, MG’s hybrid B-segment SUV is shorter but slightly wider than the Honda HR-V has a length of 4,385 mm, a wheelbase of 2,610 mm and a width of 1,790 mm.

Powering the MG VS Hybrid is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated inline four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 109 PS at 6,000 rpm and 142 Nm at 4,500 rpm, mated to a 95 PS/200 Nm electric motor and an e-CVT. The electric motor draws power from a 2.1 kWh lithium-ion battery and together the powertrain produces a total output of 177 PS.

17-inch alloy wheels are wrapped in 215/55R17 tires, suspension is MacPherson struts at the front and torsion beams at the rear. Brakes are ventilated discs at the front and solid discs at the rear.

Inside, the cabin is upholstered in two-tone synthetic leather, and a dual widescreen display panel combines a 12.3-inch driver’s instrument panel and an equally sized touchscreen. The driver’s seat is six-way power adjustable while the front passenger seat is mechanically adjustable, with a feature set that also includes a wireless device charger and a PM2.5 cabin air filter.

Safety kit in the VS Hybrid includes front, side and curtain airbags, traction control, stability control, hill start assist, hill descent control, cornering brake control, active speed limiter, 360-degree camera and automatic park assist.

The infotainment system includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen, six-speaker audio, one USB-C port and three USB-A ports, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (both wireless).

The MG VS Hybrid is sold in Indonesia in five exterior colours – Mineral Blue, Ash Grey Metallic, Arctic White, Crimson Red and Black; all but the last colour feature a contrasting black roof finish. The MG VS Hybrid in Indonesia is priced at 389 million rupiah (RM109,310).
