BMW X3 sDrive20i facelift 2022 review – is the base model RM297k good enough, or is it too slow or kosong?
Upgrade G01 BMW X3 sDrive20i was given in February this year with X3 xDrive30i and xDrive30eStart from RM296,950 on the road without insurance, including a two-year unlimited kilometer warranty. Opt for the five-year unlimited mileage warranty and the five-year/100,000 km service plan, and the sDrive20i’s price tag has increased to RM315,800. All three variants are locally assembled (CKD) in Malaysia.
Like the X3 xDrive30i, the sDrive20i is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder B48 engine. Although it produces less power than the xDrive30i, it still hits a respectable 184 PS from 5,000 to 6,500 rpm and 300 Nm of torque from 1,350 to 4,000 rpm. The engine is mated to an eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission to drive the rear wheels, unlike xDrive models that come with all-wheel drive. The sDrive20i’s 0-100 km/h acceleration is done in 8.2 seconds, with a top speed of 215 km/h.
Besides the M Sport body kit with sportier front and rear bumpers, the X3’s headlights (with adaptive LEDs) are 10mm thinner than before, along with new daytime running lights graphics. The kidney grille is also larger and is combined with a one-piece frame that integrates the front camera. It is worth noting that all three variants of the upgraded X3 do not come with front fog lights. Besides the hexagonal exhaust tips, the taillights now have a patterned pincer outline design for a more defined look.
Other notable exterior mentions include 19-inch M light-alloy wheels in 887 style wrapped in 245/50 Bridgestone Alenza tyres, M sport suspension, and automatic locking and unlocking when driving. move with a hands-free back door.
Inside, standard equipment includes BMW’s Live Cockpit Plus system with a 5.1-inch multi-info display, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, an M Sport steering wheel, and three USB-C charging ports. and a USB-A port, auto-hold brake. three-zone climate control system and HiFi speaker sound system. Seat upholstery options include Vernasca leather in Mocha or Black leather although the former was reserved for Alpine White or Carbon Black exterior color options.
In terms of driver assistance, the X3 sDrive20i is equipped with the Driver Assistance package for features such as automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane change warning and rear cross-traffic alert with brake intervention. . Also offered is the Park Assist package with Reverse Assistant and cruise control.
