Earlier in June, Sandberg, whose close partnership with CEO Mark Zuckerberg has driven the growth of the world’s largest social network, announced his departure from the company after 14 years.
Chief growth officer Javier Olivan will take over as chief executive, although Zuckerberg said he has no plans to directly replace Sandberg’s role in the company’s existing structure.
Sandberg says she will continue to serve on Meta’s board after leaving the company in the fall.
