Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) may just introduce a model that looks faster GLA250 AMG series earlier this week, but now the company has launched a model that is actually faster – the Mercedes-AMG GLA35 4Matic upgraded. The high-performance H247 has been refreshed with blink-and-you’ll-miss-them design improvements as well as a new mild-hybrid system being rolled out elsewhere in Stuttgart’s line-up.

These include a new AMG Performance Nappa leather steering wheel with Mercedes’ latest (and very misleading) rotary and power touch controls, along with the latest Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) interface. – there’s now wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto – that ditches the center touchpad. Otherwise, the cabin remains unchanged, meaning the widescreen display panel still houses two 10.25-inch screens for the gauges and infotainment system. As before, the GLA35 comes with three key bits of kit not found elsewhere in the range – dual-zone climate control adding rear vents (finally), a 360 camera system level and Burmester surround sound system with 12 speakers, 710 watts of sound system. Augmented reality functionality for built-in navigation is still included, but unlike the previous model, you no longer get a head-up display or external logo projection.

Otherwise, standard equipment is identical to other GLA models and includes aluminum roof rails, keyless entry, push-button start, auto-dimming mirrors, 64-hour ambient lighting. color, parking assist, Qi wireless charger, tire pressure monitoring system, tire repair kit and hands-free power tailgate.

On the safety front, the GLA35 adds a Driving Assistance package that includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane-centering assist to its list of standard driver assists – automatic emergency braking , blind spot monitoring and door opening warning.
