Memorial Tournament 2022: Live stream, watch online, TV schedule, tee time, radio, golf coverage

If you’re looking closely at the durability of the pitch, this week’s Memorial Tournament, which kicks off on Thursday, is the sixth-best tournament in the world so far in 2022. The event has only been usurped by two pros. Family, Players, a WGC and Riviera. It’s also easy to see why 13 of the top 18 golfers in the Official World Golf Ranking will tee off at Muirfield Village in the final game before the US Open.

Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, Collin Morikawa and the final two champions (Patrick Cantlay and Jon Rahm) will all be in attendance, and the 2021 epilogue brings some extra drama. Rahm had to withdraw after 54 holes because of a positive COVID-19 test, and Cantlay went on to beat Morikawa in the playoffs. Rahm was up six when he withdrew and will almost certainly win the league title.

Instead, Cantlay won it for the second time in three years. Coincidentally, Rahm and Cantlay are actually the last three winners of this tournament in the long history of elite champions. Despite some exciting one-off wins by players like David Lingmerth and William McGirt, the event is mostly reserved for full-time celebrities. Along with Cantlay and Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau, Hideki Matsuyama and Tiger Woods (5 times) have all won here.

This event is always a great start to the summer and is one of the best shows on the PGA Tour. With a redesigned golf course that tournament organizer Jack Nicklaus wants to play hard against the best players in the world, the event isn’t a huge championship, but it’s a pretty good facsimile for a People.
