Friends, here we come again: awards season. Not only that, this is the second awards season taking place in the middle of a major tournament Covid-19 Overtime makes red carpets and big dinners inevitable if not completely unsafe. The Grammy Award has been won postpone since their original January 31st. The AFI Awards Luncheon was push back too. The list goes continue. One thing that hasn’t been postponed or cancelled? Oscar. The show is scheduled for March 27 — and this time, it will have a host.
Not that it hasn’t had a server before. In previous years, everyone from Billy Crystal to Ellen DeGeneres succeeded on the show. But no one has joined the gig since the end of Jimmy Kimmel’s run in 2018. (Part of the reason the show is without a host is the whole thing. Kevin Hart Controversy This year, however, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will once again fill that position. The problem is, they don’t know anyone.
After breaking news on Tuesday that the show will have a host, there has been much speculation about who that person might be and who Candlestick it is in. But while everyone waits for an official announcement, the Internet will do what it does best and present its own contenders.
One of the clear crowd favorite is Elmo. (Yes, this actually happened. He actually yelled at fellow puppet Zoe, “Rocco is not survive! ” in a surreal moment where all but 2022 has proven to be the year of the Peak of Existence.) On the surface, this might be a good idea. Who doesn’t want a night to end with a Sesame Street The character screams “Why Drive my car snubbed? TALK TO ELMO! ”? But then remember that Hollywood has enough spoiled kids, and having an award show host ages pretty quickly.
Again idea it appears that not only host Holland, but Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire – his fellow Spider-Mans – are as well. Looks fun! But also, why are we ignoring Zendaya? Just say. As this week goes on, other names also join the fray. Willem Defoe! Eric Andre! Academy even Post a question on Twitter, asking people to come up with hypothetical host options.
