Matthew McConaughey Says He Won’t Run For Governor Of Texas
After admitting that he had spent time learning about politics and considered running for governor of Texas, McConaughey said he decided to focus his efforts on the private sector.
“As a simple kid born in the small town of Uvalde, Texas, I never thought I would one day be considered for political leadership. It’s been such a humble and inspiring path. That is also the path that I said.
He also noted that he studied Texas politics and American politics.
“What have I learned? So much. That we have some problems to fix. Our politics needs new purpose. We have broken divisions that need healing,” he said.
McConaughey also said that he will continue to support the entrepreneurs, businesses, and platforms that he “believes to be leaders.”
“Institutions I believe are creating pathways for people to succeed in life,” McConaughey said. “Organizations have a mission to serve and build trust and create prosperity – that’s the dream American dream”. “Politicians, good people, can get us where we need to go … but let’s be clear, they can’t do anything for us unless we choose to do it for ourselves.”
