Masters 2023 predictions, golf odds, top picks, props: Insiders bet high on Scottie Scheffler for repeat

After missing his chance last year, Jordan Spieth will be hoping to regain his strong form at Augusta National Golf Club when he takes on the 2023 Masters, which begins on Thursday, April 6. The 29-year-old won the first of three major titles when he wore the green jacket at the 2015 Masters. Spieth finished runner-up after that win and has finished third at the Masters on two other occasions, most recently in 2021.

Spieth is 14-1 in the latest Masters 2023 odds from Caesars Sportsbook, while defending champion Scottie Scheffler is the favorite in the Masters 2023 by 13-2. Rory McIlroy, last year’s runner-up, was 15-2, Jon Rahm was 8-1, while Cameron Smith made the list of the top five contenders for the 2023 Masters, also 14-1. Before finalizing any golf picks or predictions at the 2023 Masters, you need to See what proven golf betting expert Patrick McDonald has to sayconsider his recent achievements.

McDonald’s still likes to dip its toes into weekly betting groups on the PGA Tour. He takes a deliberate approach to his outright picks and is having a successful 2022-23 season. McDonald’s has raised nearly 17 units this season, which translates to nearly $1,700 for those who bet $100. He is having a successful season in both outright picks and head-to-head games.

McDonald’s nailed it at the Farmers’ Insurance Open, endorsing Homa (25-1) as his top pick. He hit another 25-1 hit at the Houston Open, knocking out Tony Finau to win and ending the 2021-22 season with 42 units over his total, including a 250- 1 monster for Hudson Swafford at The American Express. Anyone who follows McDonald’s advice benefits.

Now, McDonald’s has focused its attention on the field of Masters 2023 and has closed the best bets, top sleepers and favorites to avoid. You can see them here.

Masters Expert’s Top Pick 2023

A great prediction from McDonald’s: He’s beating Viktor Hovland, even though the Norwegian recently finished third at the Players Championship. The 25-year-old has finished in the top 20 in seven of nine leagues this season, but has struggled at Augusta National throughout his career.

After finishing in 32nd place as a lowly amateur in 2019, Hovland finished 21st at masters in 2021 and shared 27th place at last year’s tournament. He only finished below par in two of his last eight laps on the court and is yet to break the 70 mark at Augusta. Hovland’s play around the green worries McDonald as he ranks 164th in strokes achieved and 79th in putts. See who else to fade here.

On the other hand, McDonald’s says “Scottie Scheffler should have justifiably asked for another green coat.” The 26-year-old New Jersey player is world number one and reached the semifinals of the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play last week after winning the 2022 event.

Scheffler also won two of his four tournaments before this year’s Match. He finished two strokes against Nick Taylor in February to repeat as the Phoenix Open champion and won five strokes at the Players Championship earlier this month. Scheffler has scored seven finishes in the top 10 this season, ranking first among all golfers. See who else to come back here.
