Marl Kingdom Chronicles coming to PS5 – PlayStation.Blog

As we all enter 2023 with high hopes for what is to come, Nippon Ichi Software invites you to celebrate its 30th Anniversary with some exciting news! This milestone means a lot to us, and with it, we’re excited to announce Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless and Rhapsody: Marl Kingdom Chronicles, both of which will be released this year. Now on PlayStation!

Although Nippon Ichi Software has released an extensive and acclaimed role-playing game portfolio over the past 30 years, perhaps no game is as iconic as Disgaea. With the release of Disgaea: Hour of Darkness on PS2 in 2003, the series also celebrated its 20th anniversary, along with both NIS America and Disgaea’s protagonist, Prinny! With all of this in mind, it looks like Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless is coming this fall, bringing with it an interesting cast of demonic characters and some new features that make it the biggest release yet in the series so far.

2023 also marks the 25th anniversary of Rhapsody! Beginning with the release of Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure on PlayStation® in 1998, the series is known for its captivating characters and whimsical music. With Rhapsody: Marl Kingdom Chronicles, we couldn’t be happier to continue the story by bringing both Rhapsody II: The Little Princess Ballad and Rhapsody III: Memories of Marl Kingdom to the West for the first time.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Nippon Ichi Software for the past 30 years! We hope you’re looking forward to these new titles as much as we are, and we’re excited to share some details about them with you.

Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless and Rhapsody: Marl Kingdom Chronicles coming to PS5

Disgaea 7: The oath of the immoral

Hinomoto’s demonic kingdom is changing and the days of noble warriors are numbered. Bushido, the code of ethics for the values, ethics, and way of life practiced by residents, has been replaced by the Hinomoto Destruction Rule. Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless tells the story of lazy warrior Fuji and bushido fanatical girl Pirilika, as they find each other’s unlikely allies in their fight against tyranny while uncovering the meaning of the true meaning of honor and redemption.

Released on both PS4 and PS5, the title offers a number of features that are both new and familiar.

Character classes: Disgaea 7 contains over 40 character classes, including four new classes: Maiko, Bandit, Zombie Maiden, and Big Eye.

Auto-battle: Back in Disgaea 7, after completing a level, you could replay that level by engaging enemies in auto battles. This can help you gain more experience and save time during your gameplay.

Online ranked match: For the first time in the series, AI-driven ranked matches let you go head-to-head against other players online. The system generates optimal strategies based on the opponent’s movement patterns and stage characteristics. Stacking wins will lead to improved ratings, while losing will affect your placement.

Transfer items: Just as the character regeneration mechanic in previous Disgaea games also makes a return, you can now respawn items, turning them into something completely different. The more you do, the more powerful the item becomes!

Hell mode: Some characters have “Hell Gauge” full during battle. Once maxed out, they’ll switch to “Hell Mode,” which boosts stats and unlocks unique skills.

Visit: Once you’ve brought peace to an area of Hinomoto, you can drop by for a tour. Get to know the inhabitants of Hinomoto as they return to their normal lives, with additional dialogue and the chance to recruit new companions (after you defeat them in battle, of course).

Mess: Each character in Disgaea 7 can grow in size on their own, growing both in size and strength, increasing their stats and damage output. However, be careful because enemies can do the same!

Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless releases on PS4 and PS5 in the fall of 2023. Text options include both English and French, with English and Japanese voice options.

Rhapsody: Chronicles of the Kingdom of Marl

Experience the story of Cornet, Ferdinand and their family in Rhapsody: Marl Kingdom Chronicles on PS5. This collection of two games marks the launch of both Rhapsody II: Ballad of the Little Princess and Rhapsody III: Memories of Marl Kingdom in the West. These titles share the same whimsical story and musical appeal of the original, along with improved visuals and upgrade mechanics.

Following in the footsteps of her mother Cornet, young Kururu embarks on a journey to find her own prince in Rhapsody II: Ballad of the Little Princess.

The title introduces a different turn-based combat system than the first game, along with more songs and characters than ever before.

In Rhapsody III: Memories of Marl Kingdom, a series of compelling chapters wraps up the story of Rhapsody and the characters within it. Experience the events that happened before, during, and after previous titles, including an emotional and heartfelt conclusion about Cornet’s mother, Cherie.

The title also comes with a new combat system that differs from its predecessors, complete with combo character attacks and the addition of a 3D camera.

Rhapsody: Marl Kingdom Chronicles releases on PS5 Summer of 2023. Voiceover options include both English and Japanese dubbing, the rest of the songs are only available in Japanese.
