Trading in dozens of stocks on the New York Stock Exchange was halted shortly after the market opened on Monday following an apparent technical problem.
Large stocks affected include Morgan Stanley, Verizon, AT&T, Nike and McDonald’s, according to NYSE’s website. Many stocks have been shown to exhibit unusually high volatility when the market opened, which may have caused a pause in volatility.
CNBC’s Bob Pisani said on “Squawk on the Street” that the problem appears to be a technical issue and not something that happened on the exchange.
