Manningcast Week 11 Guest List: Here’s Who Will Join Peyton, Eli Manning on ‘Monday Night Football’

One of the best weekly parts of the “Manningcast” version of “Monday Night Football” is the guests they can line up to watch the show. The show is back with a seventh episode in Week 11 featuring the Giants and Buccaneers clash, and the Manning brothers will once again have a great guest list for their broadcast.

In theory, this has always been one of the easiest matches for Mannings to add guests. Peyton Manning may have exploited his connection to former Colts coach Tony Dungy, who coached the Buccaneers before arriving in Indianapolis, to get a great former Bucs on the broadcast.

Meanwhile, Eli Manning is clearly hyper-connected to the Giants franchise. That’s how he was able to get Michael Strahan back on the show a couple of weeks.

However, neither brother Manning used those connections. However, they put together a compelling lineup for the broadcast.

“Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli” had plenty of powerful moments with the guests, but none was better than Marshawn Lynch’s performance in Week 7. He appeared on the show and admitted that he drank Hennessy (and omit a lot of profanity during broadcast). It was the episode in which Eli Manning famously showed the camera a double bird, filed three complaints with the FCC.

Any guest stars joining Lynch? It will prove tough, but the lineup is once again star-studded and packed with another Manningcast curse candidate.

Here is the guest list for the Week 11 broadcast of “Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli” during the Buccaneers vs. Giants.

THAN: Is Manningcast Cursed?

Manningcast Guest for Week 11

  • Bill Parcells, former NFL (and Giants) head coach
  • Kevin Hart, comedian
  • Condoleezza Rice, former US Secretary of State
  • Julian Edelman, former Patriots wide player

Bill Parcells

Parcells will be the first guest on “ManningCast” in Week 11. He’s a logical choice, as the Pro Football Hall of Famer is widely regarded as one of the best coaches in NFL history. He hit a 172-130-1 record from 1983 to 2006 coaching the Giants, Patriots, Jets and Cowboys. He won two Super Bowls while in charge of the Giants and led the Patriots to one.

Parcells will be able to tell viewers stories from the heyday of the Giants. He’ll also talk about Brady, who’s totally deserving of the Hall of Fame, and might break his game a bit.

It’s also important to note that Parcells has an interesting connection to Peyton Manning. Parcells was the #1 pick in the 1997 NFL Draft when Manning was considering leaving Tennessee to turn pro. Manning is expected to return to school, and Parcells has not attempted to sway his decision.

“I don’t look back on those things,” Parcells said of Manning’s choice, according to the New York Daily News. “I knew he was going to stay at the school.”

It will be interesting to see if that topic comes up on this broadcast.

Kevin Hart

Kevin Hart made the rounds on the NFL show this week. He appeared on NFL Network’s “NFL Gameday Morning” on Sunday and enthusiastically booed the Saints as they took to the field to take on his beloved Eagles.

What can you expect from Hart this time around? He’ll likely throw a lot of shade at the Eagles’ divisional rival, the Giants, and he’ll almost certainly mention Philadelphia beating Brady and the Patriots in Super Bowl 52. Besides, he will also likely mention his new show “True Story” which will air on Netflix on November 24th.

So if you’re wondering why this is the week for Hart and not the Eagles game, it probably has something to do with that release.

Condoleezza Rice

Yes, Condoleezza Rice, the former US Secretary of State, will appear on “Manningcast” on Monday night. At first glance, this may seem like an odd choice, but Rice is a huge fan of football and has a primary connection to the sport.

Rice was one of the first 13 members of the College Football Playoff selection committee. She was on that team from 2013 to the end of the 2016 college football season. She has previously stated that her “dream job” would be serve as commissioner of the NFL. She first mentioned that possibility when Paul Tagliabue stepped down from that position, but the owner named Roger Goodell as the league’s new commissioner.

So Rice has more of a footballing background than people realize. She also attended the Colts’ 2007 trip to the White House, so she probably knows Peyton Manning from there. Either way, she should bring a unique perspective to the show, and perhaps Mannings will grill her on the CFP selection process.

Julian Edelman

Edelman will be on “Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli” in the fourth quarter of the game. Edelman has spent his entire career with the Patriots and has won multiple head-to-head games against Mannings. He made 35 catches at 341 yards and 4 TDs in 4 games with Manning’s Broncos from 2013 to 2015 and was a thorn in the Broncos defence.

Edelman is very good friends with Tom Brady, so he should be able to provide some insight into working with him. He was also part of the Patriots in their Super Bowl 46 loss to the Giants, so Eli Manning will likely bring that up.

During his career, Edelman won 3 Super Bowl rings and was the MVP of Super Bowl 53. He’s caught 620 career passes for 6,822 yards and 36 touchdowns. He has the second most appearances in post-season history with 1,442. He’s just behind Jerry Rice (2,245) in that category.
