Man hugs dog “kicked” with a bottle, growls and snaps his fingers without knowing the intention

Homeless animals face hardship every day. Finding essentials like food, shelter, and water is challenging enough. These precious souls also have to battle untreated infections that can be life-threatening. One stray dog, later named Crumb, succumbed to scabies so severe that his skin turned to stone.

The Sidewalk Specials lifeguards wanted nothing more than to help Crumb but he refused to be caught. In fact, he led volunteers on an eight-month rescue mission. Finally, a man walked in and with a plastic bottle he held Crumb down so the rescuers could put a leash on him. Crumb fought the kind people and attacked out of fear. Little did he know that his life was about to change for the better.

Crumb is finally stable. He is placed in a car where he receives food and love. He was surprised that the people he had spent so much energy running away from just wanted to help him. Now to the vet! Crumb had a lot of problems but the vet and his new friends were determined to keep this puppy healthy, both mentally and physically.

The petrified dog must learn to accept all the good things around him. What follows is a beautiful journey towards healing, comfort, and lasting love. This deserving dog says goodbye forever to the cold, harsh roads and we couldn’t be happier! We are forever grateful to rescue groups like Sidewalk Specials who never give up animals in need. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! To see Crumb’s full story, see below.
