Luis Ortiz was back in the ring on Saturday night, facing Charles Martin in a scheduled 12-round heavyweight bout. 32-2 Ortiz looked in very good form, and performed well against Martin 28-2-1, when he was brought on briefly in his first game. Martin continued to land well into the second inning, although Ortiz caught him well as he penetrated. Ortiz looks like he could show his age a bit in the third season, while Martin boxed and hit well.

Ortiz was in fine form in the fourth inning, when a sharp, straight jab sent him to the mat for a second time. Ortiz beat the count, but that second kill speaks for itself. The fifth game saw Ortiz do well, but Martin was still able to effectively land him. Looks like Ortiz’s glory days came to an end in season six – when Ortiz landed his left arm. Martin actually tripped while standing upright, and Ortiz jumped to his death. Martin went down, and was entangled in the ropes.

As the fight continued, Ortiz broke through, swinging at Martin’s head and torso until Martin fell again. Martin tried to get ahead, but the referee wisely stopped the game.
