After another successful event in Australia, LIV Golf is back again this week in Singapore. LIV Golf Singapore marks the second time in as many years that the 54-hole course has been held across the country and is the final event of the tournament before the second major championship of the season, the PGA Championship.
Taking place in Valhalla in two weeks, Smash GC captain Brooks Koepka will defend his Wanamaker Trophy. The five-time major champion hasn’t experienced the fast start he saw in 2023 before winning at Oak Hill, but he may have shown signs of things to come with a quality outing at LIV Golf Adelaide last week.
Koepka hopes to build on the momentum he gained at The Grange ahead of his main defense. Meanwhile, Cameron Smith’s Ripper GC won the playoff against Louis Oosthuizen’s Stinger GC in the first team playoff of the tournament. The all-Australian team have recorded their first home win together and aim to maintain their good results this week.
Meanwhile, two-time major champion Jon Rahm continues to show form but doesn’t have an individual crown to show for it. The world number 5 is gradually asserting his position and is among the favorites to take home the trophy before aiming for another third major championship.
Torque GC’s Joaquin Niemann remained in good form, as did Crushers GC’s Bryson DeChambeau. Dustin Johnson will rely on his teammate, Patrick Reed, as their four Aces are falling in the season standings with just six tournaments remaining.
