Lexus hopes the supply constraints that have held back it in 2022 will ease as we move into the second half of 2023.
“Looking to next year, we see a much brighter future for supply, with more focus on the second half of the year. [of 2023],” Lexus Australia CEO John Pappas told the media.

The brand delivered 7089 vehicles in 2022, down 23.7% year-over-year.
If the brand wants to achieve peak sales in 2021 as Mr. Pappas predicts, it will have to deliver at least 9290 vehicles this year.
Mr. Pappas said auto expert waiting time for NX hybrid and plug-in hybrid currently lasts up to two years, although the average lead time for “most models” elsewhere in the range is between two and 10 months.

“We’re trying very, very hard to communicate with our dealer network about how we’re going and what’s going on, in terms of production. And they’re doing a great job of trying to keep customers informed,” said Mr. Pappas CarExpert.
Lexus recently began offering customers who have waited more than five months for their vehicle access to certain parts of the Encore owner benefit package as a way to make waiting times more bearable.
“It’s just a recent initiative,” said Mr Pappas, as part of a plan to help prospective owners get a feel for what life as an owner is like.
“Even if they don’t have a car yet, let them begin to experience what Lexus is so they can begin to access the things that people would have access to if they owned a Lexus.”
