LeBron James suspended for 1 game after Isiaih Stewart fouled
LeBron James has been given a one-match ban for a foul on Pistons player Isaiah Stewart.
Stewart was given a two-match ban for “disturbing on the field by relentless and aggressive pursuit… James in an unsportsmanlike manner.” James was suspended “for carelessly hitting Stewart in the face and starting a melee in court.”
The suspension was a first for James. He has never been suspended before in his career.
“Everybody in the league knows LeBron isn’t a dirty guy,” Anthony Davis told ESPN after the game. “In fact, knowing he hit me, as soon as he did, he looked back at him like, ‘Oh, that sucks. I wasn’t trying to do that.'”
Lakers coach Frank Vogel said: “[James] have an elbow [from Stewart] to the rib cage, where it was fouled and he was trying to cut off contact. And having casual contact is clearly enough for a fool 2.
