Learning Disability: Andrew marks 30 years of work
A man with Down syndrome has marked 30 years at a family-run tire assembly company.
Andrew Williams originally started working at Heath Tires in Cardiff on a job placement and remains there at the age of 49.
The Welsh Government is being encouraged by Learning Disability Wales (LDW) to create a national job coaching service to support people in paid work.
Andrew Evans, manager of Heath Tires, said they “found the right person for the right job” in Andrews.
Around 54,000 people in Wales have a learning disability, but only 6% across the UK, are employed.
