Leading the way for global change

At the heart of Animal Equality, undercover investigations still play a vital role in exposing the cruelty and abuse behind the closed doors of the agricultural industry. As we look ahead, our investigations will become a force for change by creating irrefutable evidence, partnering with journalists, legislators and law enforcement. the law.

Message from Sean Thomas, International Director of Investigations

Animal Equality began in 2023 by presenting the results of investigations from secret slaughterhouses in Brazil, pig farms in Italy, cows and buffalo suffering on dairy farms in India and fish Salmon was pulled out of the water and left to suffocate on the slaughter boat of a factory fish farm in the United States of America.

The goal of the investigations is to provide a window into animal suffering, such as catching a mother pig during endless months of confinement or hearing the sound of a metal door slamming when a cow looks at the one in front of her entering the slaughterhouse, and exposes that fact to a public that only sees produce on supermarket shelves. Our job is to show that animals’ fear, suffering, and pain are real, and to provide discussion about how to treat disinterested animals compassionately.

We must combat the secrecy of industrial establishments whose opacity is reinforced by the wealth obtained through exploitation. We must be resilient against the public that might ask.”Are they really suffering??” Or “isn’t it just a one time incident, most companies don’t” or “what does it matter if we still kill and eat them?” We must have the answer to every question and the truth against all doubt.

To further these goals, recruiting and developing investigative teams in each country was a major focus this year. Experience building for Inquisitors, who can seamlessly capture images while still being emotional while testifying. Upholding Animal Equality as one of the few global organizations focused on investigation.

LIVE HAPPILY

With a rich love life and unbreakable family ties, pets deserve protection. You can build a kinder world by replacing animal food products with plant-based products.

Our list of priorities for the 2023 censuses are:

  • Recording supply chains that depend on cruel confinement – There are manufacturers and retailers that have failed to make meaningful commitments to end the holding of pregnant pigs in our sights. we
  • Cruel treatment in slaughterhouses to enforce existing regulations in countries where they are strong and to support new legislation in countries with developing welfare laws
  • Cows used to get milk – separate calves. Painful mutilation and selling them for slaughter
  • Horses are killed for meat

One strategic framework I’ve always believed in is that when you control the information, you control the story. Generating irrefutable evidence from what we expose allows us to be a resource for journalists and legislators, and a partner for law enforcement seeking to trace prosecute crimes against animals. In 2023, we will lead the change that drives this story.

Let the industry know you stand behind animals and stand against this abuse! Join our End Factory Farming campaign by signing our petition today.
