Bangkok hospital to open $5 million robotic surgery center

Bangkok Hospital, one of Thailand’s largest private healthcare providers, is preparing to build a $5 million robotic surgery center.

Based on the press release, the facility will have multiple operating rooms equipped with robotic platforms such as the da Vinci Xi Surgical System from the United States.

The investment is in line with the hospital’s five-year roadmap, which includes expanding its robotic surgery capabilities to cover more specialties such as ENT surgery and investing in education and training to become a Centre of Excellence in Robotic Surgery in Southeast Asia.


St Luke’s ElderCare’s Newest Rehabilitation Center Using Robotic Technology

Aged care provider St Luke’s ElderCare (SLEC) recently opened a day rehabilitation centre in Butik Batok, a residential area in western Singapore.

According to an announcement on LinkedIn, the facility will offer specialized rehabilitation therapy, leveraging robotics, augmented reality, and video game elements.

Meanwhile, SLEC recently launched a project using generative AI powered by MemoryLane to help seniors write their life stories. The Golden Memories program aims to preserve their stories in books and videos. Elderly care programRover plans to bring this program to more centers soon.


Hoan My, Abbott applies AI in diagnosing non-communicable diseases

Hoan My Medical Corporation in Vietnam and Abbott Vietnam are looking to deploy an AI-based clinical decision support system as part of their collaboration to improve the diagnosis and treatment of non-communicable diseases.

In a statement, Hoan My Group CEO Dr. Dilshaad Ali Bin Abas Ali explained that their partnership with Abbott “will help improve diagnosis and effective treatment of non-communicable diseases, which account for more than three-quarters of all deaths in Vietnam.”

CDSS will be used to triage patients based on AI-driven risk assessment and data analytics, enhancing health screening. It will also help improve clinical management by care teams.

BoyThe organizations will also work to implement a cardiovascular risk stratification program to predict future cardiovascular risks; implement Abbott’s traumatic brain injury test to assess brain damage; and create diabetes care programs and nutrition intervention plans.

In addition, they will develop public education programs targeting chronic diseases such as heart disease and diabetes, as well as infectious diseases such as influenza and dengue fever.
