Lancia returns to its roots with a new hot hatchback


Lancia’s first all-new hatchback in decades comes in the form of an electric hatchback and it will herald a return to rallying for the Italian brand.

Lancia Ypsilon HF revealed as a high-performance version of the car model that marks the rebirth of the brand, the standard 4th generation Ypsilon has just been revealed monopoly on electric power earlier this year.

Lancia is expected to bring the Ypsilon HF to the European market in May 2025, while the brand will return to the World Rally Championship (WRC) with the Ypsilon Rally4 HF – albeit not in the class highest flying item and runs on gasoline power.

The Ypsilon is built on the e-CMP platform, which is shared with other electric vehicles under the Stellantis umbrella including the Fiat 600e, Peugeot e-208And Jeep Avenger EV.

It’s powered by a 51kWh battery pack, with a single front-mounted electric motor producing 115kW of power and 260Nm of torque.

The HF version ups power to around 180kW for a 0-100km/h time of 5.8 seconds and features lowered suspension, wider wheel tracks with extended fenders, aggressive styling and alloy wheels six-spoke version exclusive.

The reintroduction of the HF logo and red elephant emblem is a reminder of Lancia’s performance heritage and pedigree, and a nod to the brand’s passionate owner base.

Lancia has won 15 WRC titles and competed with some of the most iconic cars in the history of the sport, and its return to the track with the Ypsilon Rally4 HF is expected to be a worthy addition. welcome to this field.

Designed with a paint color reminiscent of Lancia’s Martini Racing colors, the Ypsilon Rally4 HF will be equipped with a 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder gasoline engine producing 156kW, in accordance with class regulations. WRC’s Rally4 entry.

It will be mated to a five-speed manual transmission that sends power to the front wheels with the help of a limited-slip differential, while its return to competition will bring back the historic Lancia Corse HF branding.

The HF logo will also appear on future Lancia models, including the Gamma crossover and Delta hatchback.
