Kyle Beach: NHLPA votes on investigation into handling of allegations
The NHL Gamers’ Affiliation is contemplating opening an impartial investigation into the way it dealt with allegations of sexual assault introduced ahead by a Chicago Blackhawks prospect towards a former assistant coach in 2010.
The NHLPA launched an announcement Monday saying govt director Donald Fehr has advisable an investigation be carried out by exterior authorized counsel to evaluate how the union responded to “the Kyle Seashore matter.”
The assertion says the 32-member govt board is voting on the difficulty, although no timeline for the vote was launched.
Seashore is the participant on the centre of allegations towards former Blackhawks video coach Brad Aldrich.
A report launched by the NHL final week confirmed Fehr was contacted twice about allegations related to Aldrich, together with by a Seashore confidant, however Fehr advised investigators he could not recall both dialog.
Fehr mentioned in an announcement that there was “little doubt” the system had failed Seashore and “we’re a part of that system.”
