Korean medical software developer Medical IP moves to the AWS cloud

Medical imaging solutions company Medical IP from South Korea has established a new partnership with Amazon Web Services to drive digital transformation.

They signed a letter of support agreeing that Medical IP will move to the AWS cloud, starting with its flagship product, x-TiSepX beam segmentation and quantitative analysis solution, MEDIP PRO digital twin deployment solution and intuitive printing technology.

Through their partnership, Medical IP will leverage AWS’ HIPAA-qualified data management service Amazon HealthLake in its cloud-native APIs. According to the company, it runs its medical imaging applications using a single, authoritative copy of the data without creating a lot of imaging data in the cloud, which saves on imaging storage costs. medical photo. Using AWS HealthLake, its applications will be able to conduct image searches faster and accelerate the research process.

The company will also work with AWS to develop a digital twin platform that can transform medical images into digital representations of physical objects without time and space limitations. time using 3D deployment technology and AI segmentation based on medical images.

Additionally, Medical IP plans to use AWS’s global cloud infrastructure and services to develop a cloud-based medical image analysis platform optimized for global customers, including including customers in the United States, China and the Middle East, enhancing its international competitiveness.

WHY IT IMPORTANT

By migrating to the AWS cloud, Medical IP’s technology is expected to “go beyond the limits”; Its medical image-based technology can now be deployed for joint research across multiple institutions and real-time communication between institutions, across geographical borders. Moving to the AWS cloud will also enables Medical IP to seamlessly conduct multi-institutional clinical trials for its medical imaging solutions.

Ultimately, this move to the cloud gives Medical IP a competitive edge in the global medical image analysis software market, which is predicted to be worth nearly $4.3 billion by 2025, according to Statista .

TREND TO BIGGER WOMAN

Their collaboration begins in 2021 when Medical IP joins the AWS Diagnostics Development Initiative, which aims to help organizations adopt cloud technology to accelerate diagnostic R&D. Through that program, TiSepX was born. Powered by AWS AI and ML services, the software solution assesses COVID-19 severity on chest X-ray images.

Earlier this month, Medical IP received approval of the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for TiSepX. The company is working to get more overseas licenses for its software products and looking for partners to adopt its technology. It is also set to begin clinical trials for TiSepX in New York as part of an application for market approval by the US Food and Drug Administration.
