Kim Kardashian opposes claims she damaged Marilyn Monroe’s dress
Earlier this month, allegations spread online about Kim Kardashian and Marilyn Monroe the dress she wore to this year’s Met Gala. Online rumors say that she damaged the dress and that the crystals are dangling from the dress. In a recent chat with the “Today” show, she finally responded.
On Tuesday, Kim addressed the claims and declared them untrue. While going into details, she explains the process of wearing the dress.
It is such a process. I showed up on the red carpet in a cape and slippers, and I put the dress under the rug, going up the stairs. I could have turned it on for three minutes, four minutes, and then I changed right at the top of the stairs.
In response to a question about damaging the dress, she replied:
No, and by Ripley, we worked really well together. There are gloved hands that put it on for me.
Most recently, Ripley’s defended Kim and insisted she didn’t damage the dress, TMZ reported. The museum bought the dress back in 2016 for $4.8 million and said:
A report written on the condition of the dress in early 2017 said some seams were pulled and worn. This is not surprising given how delicate the material is. There are dents in the back by the hooks and eyes,’ among other damage cases.
Amanda Joiner, Ripley’s VP of Licensing and Publication, was with Kim at the Met Gala and said:
From the bottom of the Met steps, where Kim had worn the dress, to the top where it was returned, the dress was in its original condition.
Roomies, what do you think of this?
