Kell Brook Will Welcome Conor Benn Confrontation: “I Can Show Young Students That I’m Still Here”

Through clenched teeth, Kell Brook could barely contain his excitement for his upcoming match against Amir Khan. For nearly a decade, the boxing world has wanted to see both Khan and Brook fight. However, due to a long list of issues, neither side has been able to come to an agreement, until now.
The two will officially define their head-to-head relationship on February 19, at Manchester Arena, UK. Although none of the men are considered to be at their peak, the boxing public is still very interested in their competition. Once tickets were available, they were sold out in ten minutes, the best-selling match in British boxing history.
At 35, Brook has had some lackluster performances over the past few years. However, despite his recent form and regardless of his age, Brook revealed that his rivalry with Khan has revived him.
“I’m mojo back,” Brook said in an interview with TalkSportBoxing. “I’m getting the job done. I can’t wait to show the boxing world that I’m going to take him down.”
With Brook expecting a packed crowd at the Manchester Arena, the former IBF welterweight belt holder will be known to most of the crowd. But while Brook is completely focused on proving he’s always been a superior fighter to Khan, he admits that Conor Benn will have at least some of his attention on the night as he envisions. ants will sit on the ring.
The 25-year-old dropped out of his contest late, something Brook took notice. In the end, the rising young man hopes to face the winner of the Khan vs. Brook in his next ring appearance. Despite sharing a close and personal friendship, Brook seems willing to put that aside.
“I know that Conor Benn is drumming up some big fights. I like a challenge. He looks amazing, full of sensation in the final battle against [Chris] Algeria. We fought together and we were very, very good friends. I think it’s going to be a great match – me and Benn. ”
Most recently, Brook was regrettably lacking in his bid for the world championship against WBO belt holder Terence Crawford. Brook made the long trip from the UK to the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, on 14 November 2020 to face the pound star.
Early on, Brook’s stab bothered Crawford. However, his success was fleeting as the tit-for-tat violently and unexpectedly stopped his man in the fourth round. While it wasn’t the outcome Brook was hoping for in the end, he was optimistic about his boxing future.
If the former champion wins the upcoming match against Khan, he will gladly show Benn a thing or two in the ring.
