Kelantan ECRL six months ahead of original schedule
Kelantan passage of East Coast Railroad (ECRL) is expected to be completed six months ahead of the original schedule in January 2027, Bernama reported. The project is 61.97% complete and employs 1,500 people, according to Nik Soh Yaacoub, deputy director of Kelantan’s public works department.
Progress on the project now includes bridge construction, land reclamation and piling while construction of the first ECRL station in Kelantan has also begun, he said.
“We are confident that this project can be completed six months earlier than the original target as the work progress carried out by China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) and Malaysian Railways (MRL) exceeds the original target. progress,” he said.
