KEEP, Race for Education Award $58,000 in Scholarships

The Kentucky Horse Education Project (KEEP) Foundation and Race for Education are excited to announce the award of $58,000 in scholarships for 2024. This significant contribution underscores the organizations’ ongoing commitment to supporting and empowering students through education and helping them achieve their academic and career goals.

The KEEP Foundation/Race for Education Scholarship, which supports students from a horse-owning family with a passion for learning and pursuing a career in the horse industry, was awarded to a diverse group of recipients from a variety of backgrounds and majors. Students awarded the KEEP Foundation/Race for Education Scholarship are Kentucky students pursuing a field of study in the horse industry and/or have family members working in the horse industry.

Brittany Bell, who oversees the day-to-day operations of the KEEP Foundation, expressed her enthusiasm for this year’s scholarship awards: “We are proud to support these bright and dedicated students as they pursue their dreams. Education is a powerful tool for change and through these scholarships, we hope to make a lasting impact on the lives of the scholarship recipients, their communities and the future of the equine industry.”

Elisabeth Jensen, Executive Director of The Race for Education, echoed these sentiments, stating, “Our partnership with the KEEP Foundation has allowed us to expand our reach and support to even more students. We are grateful for the continued support of our industry including: the Alex G. Campbell Foundation, the Gary Broad Foundation, the Mary K. Oxley Foundation, Thoroughbred Charities of America, the Frankel Family Foundation, the Mt. Brilliant Family Foundation, and others. We are especially honored and grateful for the recent $500,000 bequest from the Robert Reeves Estate, which will allow us to continue providing scholarship opportunities to the equine industry.”

The 2024 scholarship recipients were selected based on academic excellence, community involvement, and financial need. The KEEP Foundation and Race for Education are honored to play a role in supporting these outstanding students and look forward to seeing them continue to succeed.
