Kawasaki KLX300 and KLX300SM 2024 | Rate first look
The Kawasaki KLX300 dual-sport and KLX300SM supermoto are introduced in 2021 to replace the KLX250. Both models are powered by a 292 cc liquid-cooled, DOHC four-valve fuel-injected engine borrowed from the KLX300R off-roader. The Kawasaki KLX300 and KLX300SM 2024 get updated styling and bodywork, along with some new lights.
When we reviewed the 2021 versions of both models, we found them to be user-friendly and capable machines that would make a great companion for beginners. We appreciate the new engine’s low to medium torque, as well as the driving position and fuel injection.
Kawasaki KLX300 2024
The Kawasaki dual-sport 2024 is the more off-road capable of the two and features 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels with Dunlop multi-purpose tyres. It has 43 mm upside-down forks with adjustable compression and 10 inches of travel. The Uni-Trak suspension with preload adjustment provides 9.1 inches of travel. Braking system includes 2-piston calipers and 250 mm discs at the front and 1-piston calipers with 240 mm discs at the rear.

Updates to the Kawasaki KLX300 for the 2024 model year include newly designed front panels and new LED headlights. The front fender design has also been updated to look sportier. A new LED taillight is tucked into the rear fender for a cleaner look and better protection. Kawasaki also offers the KLX300 a two-tone seat cover for 2024.

Kawasaki KLX300SM 2024
The KLX300SM is the road version, with 17-inch front and rear wheels, larger 300 mm front brake discs (versus 240 mm on the KLX300) and a shorter seat height of 33.9 inches (versus 35.2 inches). on KLX300). Other points that make the KLX300SM different from dual sport are less than an inch front and rear travel, IRC Road Winner street tires and a shorter wheelbase.

Updates for the Kawasaki KLX300SM are similar to those of the KLX300, including updated fenders, compact LED headlights, and new taillights. The KLX300SM also gets two-tone seats.
