Johnny Fisher will face Andriy Rudenko in a Copper Box match

JOHNNY Fisher’s ‘Bosh Army’ will return to the Copper Box Arena on September 28 when their hero takes on Andriy Rudenko on a Matchroom show. The fight was scheduled to take place on the same day at Sheffield’s Utilita Arena as part of the undercard for Dalton Smith’s fight against Jon Fernandez before Smith pulled out through injury.

Fisher took the Copper Box lead in July when he defeated Alen Babic in less than a minute. That contest was supposed to be an all-out fight, but Fisher had other ideas. The 40-year-old Rudenko would likely be the stronger opponent.

The experienced Ukrainian has established himself as a formidable challenger for prospects and contenders, overcoming Lucas Browne, Hughie Fury, Alexander Povetkin, Agit Kabayel and Zhilei Zhang. More recentlyLosses at the top of the table to Vladyslav Sirenko and Jared Anderson suggested that the cast iron chin may have cracked. Johnny Fisher will be looking to continue that trend.

Joining Fisher from the original Sheffield day is Rhiannon Dixon, who defends her WBO lightweight title against Terri Harper. Dixon won the belt in April, defeating Karen Carbajal in 10 rounds.

Still recovering from a shock KO loss, Peter McGrail takes on Brad Foster. A host of young prospects make up the rest of the card.
