It was a rather odd match. Both Frank Gore and Deron Williams have established themselves at the highest levels of athletics. Williams, in the NBA as a multiple-time Olympic and All-Star Gold medalist. Gore, on the other hand, runs past defenders in the NFL as a Pro Bowl runs back. In the process, Gore amassed the third fastest javelin of all time. However, the moment both men stepped onto the ring, Williams proved why he was considered the favorite going into their competition.

While neither have traditional experience, they both claim to have trained in the world of boxing for many years. To start things off, both sides play it safe. Gore tries to use head movement while Williams delivers a strong, steady jab. In many cases, Williams has connected with body shots that seem to drain some of the energy of the former NFL running again.

At the end of the round, Williams pricked his man with his right hand. The last of those saw Gore retreat.

To start the next round, Williams picked exactly where he stopped. He brutally bullied Gore. But, just as the former NBA star had a clear touchline, Gore shot with his left hand, sending Williams staggered.

With steady momentum in his corner, Williams struggled with it. He landed a clean one-two that sent Gore into the ropes, Williams then pounded his man until he hit the floor. Although Gore was on his feet again, he clearly seemed quite sly.

In the final stage, Williams and Gore fought in most conditions as they both ran out of gas. Though the action had to stop, Williams did more than enough to secure his win. However, the former NBA star will be forced to settle for a split victory.
