Jaguar was one of the first luxury car brands to launch an electric car, but it is looking for a switch to all-electric vehicles difficult, the brand’s boss said in a recent interview with Top of the line equipment.
“It’s incredibly disappointing to say we’re going to go all-electric and then ‘nothing,’” said chief executive Rawdon Glover, referring to Jaguar’s current roadmap of discontinuing nearly all of its current models before introducing its next-generation electric vehicles starting in 2025.

Even the Jaguar I-Pace, the brand’s only current electric model, will not be replaced. Introduced for the 2019 model year and receiving several updates in subsequent years, The I-Pace is being left behind instead of being redesigned. The planned petrol-powered F-Pace crossover is set to remain Jaguar’s only model for the time being, before it itself is retired to bring the curtain down on on Jag’s petrol engine era.
Jaguar management at least appears to be committed to an EV product strategy after some hesitation. The automaker has plans to introduce a All-electric XJ in 2021 to replace the XJ petrol sedan, while continuing to develop the I-Pace into a second generation. But both models are was finally removed favor the from-the-ground-up approach.

The first model in Jaguar’s new all-electric line is expected to be a sleek sedan or hatchback with coupe-like styling. concept preview will be revealed later this year. An SUV and a large sedan are also expected, with all three models carrying higher prices than we’ve typically seen from Jaguar lately.
Next Generation EVs will also receive one Tesla NACS Charging Portallowing them to use the American automaker’s Supercharger stations without the need for a converter. Expect future electric models from fellow brand Land Rover to do the same.
