Jack Catterall “Definitely Interested” In Struggling With Regis Prograis
Jack Catterall hopes to return to the ring this July and says he would be interested in taking on former world champion Regis Prograis.
The 28-year-old from Chorley has had time to rest and recuperate after the best performance of his career against Josh Taylor, which ended with Catterall losing the game to a split decision. Six weeks on from that night in Glasgow and ‘El Gato’ is now looking to the future after signing a promotional deal with Probellum.
Catterall has seen his stock soar following his performance against the undisputed ultralight champion with many believing him to be number one in the league. However, one man from New Orleans could see things differently and challenged Catterall to a fight.
Just seconds after stopping Tyrone McKenna in Dubai with a clinical performance, Regis Prograis noticed Jack Catterall’s ring face and called him into the ring.
“I like the guy. He called me into the ring, but I told him this is your night, enjoy yourself,” Catterall told Boxing Social’s Andi Purewal.
Prograis is keen to take on Catterall and with both now under the Probellum banner, the real possibility is that the two souths face each other.
“I’m confident the fight can be done,” Catterall said. “
Now that we’ve got the same team, Prograis is hungry to get back to the world title and so am I, I think it’s a big fight whether it’s the knockout, for the world title or whatever. But definitely something that interests me. ”
