Shopping for vintage pieces has always been a challenge for me, especially when I’m on the hunt for mid-season transitions. Luckily, I was happy to add new items to my virtual shopping cart because the selection out there had just what I needed: a bold color that was easy to wear and versatile enough to coordinate if the weather was cold. than expected.
My colleagues from LA to New York City are on the same boat as me. As editors, we’re very careful about the trends and classics we decide to include in our wardrobe, which means we often J. What are your favorite spring trends and how are you incorporating them into your wardrobe this season?
I don’t usually choose colors brighter than neutrals, but after seeing saturated colors on the S/S 22 runway, I found myself wanting to experiment with them more and more. No, I wouldn’t go head-to-toe in hot pink or metallic gold, but I love the idea of combining colors in small doses and mixing them with more tones. For now, I’ll probably stick with adding a moment of big color to my look in spring, don a silk dress or scarf in a larger shade, and pair it with looser pieces. Light panties and chino outerwear will balance out the look.
When it comes to costumes, how do these J.Crew pieces put you in the spring mood?
I’ve always found transitioning my wardrobe to a new season quite daunting at the start, but one of the best ways to get through that awkward period is to jump right in. That’s exactly what I did with these J.Crew pieces, especially the brightly colored maxi dresses and open-toe shoes. It’s nice to go out and feel refreshed again after what feels like a decade in heavy panties and outerwear. To keep the look relevant for the season — it’s not spring in NYC yet — I added a lightweight knit polo that ties the whole look together. I can’t wait to try this dress with a cropped shirt or bra and high heel sandals when the weather warms up.
How would you describe your personal style?
At its core, my style is pretty classic and traditional. I like a little black dress worn with boots and jeans paired with a t-shirt and some loafers. Then again, I really enjoy experimenting. More and more, my style has ventured beyond the realm of women’s wear. I tested a lot of trends and items for men. For the most part, my biggest takeaway is that I don’t like to limit myself to the style department. If I see something that I like or that I think is cool, I wear it, even if it doesn’t necessarily fit into the aesthetic box people would put me in.

What are your favorite spring trends and how are you incorporating them into your wardrobe this season?
I’m a big fan of spring colors. My style usually follows the standard format of a neutral background with a hint of color, and I’m excited to continue that this upcoming season. I’m focusing on colorful outerwear and accessories to add a bit of serenity to my look.
When it comes to costumes, how do these J.Crew pieces put you in the spring mood?
Outside of my daily work-from-home time, I absolutely love dressing up for lunches, night outs, and city walks. I’m wearing a light jacket in a beautiful green shade. The leaves haven’t fully recovered in NYC yet, but this coat gives me that spring feel. The color combination of the purse and the seaside paired with the all-white dress will ring for spring, and I’ve heard it with my ears.

I love the knotted detail of the white dress because it creates a small cut that feels sexy yet sophisticated. I’ll get this dress when it’s warm enough to wear it alone. The trench coat will definitely be my wardrobe hero this season. I would happily pair it with jeans and a white t-shirt or a patterned shirt and a mini skirt. The possibilities are endless. The pink bag really pulls this look together, adding an element of fun to a neutral look.

What are your favorite spring trends and how are you incorporating them into your wardrobe this season?
I’ve always been a bloodsucker for a good lawsuit situation. In the winter, I just prefer a wool coat and thicker pants, but this spring, I’m incorporating light, cool materials like this tan Eco Cupro set.
When it comes to costumes, how do these J.Crew pieces put you in the spring mood?
I can already picture wearing this ‘suit’ for so many events this season. It’s perfect for the office, coffee date, sunset dinner — you name it. I love that you can wear it up or down for any occasion. And the highlight of the color? A spring dream.
How would you describe your personal style?
I never like putting my style in a box because I think I’m changing things all the time! But I’m a person who is always about 90% of the time going for the basics. I love timeless pieces that I can wear year after year.
