It’s the wrong kind of coral – Flooded because of that?

As news of the Great Barrier Reef’s recovery spread, the inevitable rationalizations from the warningers emerged. In response to a tweet thread by Bjorn Lomborg, we have the following:

Sigh. The Internet’s bullshit law asserts itself. You know this is going to be bullshit, but proving it would be a real chore.
So coral cover has hit a high, in the wake of four mass bleaching events in the past seven years:

It is primarily a weak, fast-growing coral. So maybe what we’re looking at here are bleaching events that have killed off some of the tougher, longer-lived corals, and this fast-growing thing is growing like bushes. after a forest fire.

There is no truth to his suggestion, scientists are trying to downplay or hide these numbers. I find stories about them everywhere: Axios, Guardian, Washington Post, etc., etc.
