Canstar Blue surveyed more than 12,000 Australian adults and the results were obtained from a group of 2364 respondents who had purchased a brand new car from a dealer in the past three years.
Brands must receive at least 30 responses to be included.
Past Canstar Blue winners include Audi (2020), Mazda (2020, 2016), Mitsubishi (2019), Suzuki (2018) and BMW (2016, 2017).
Through the Roy Morgan awards, Isuzu isn’t the only car brand to top the list. It won automaker of the year, while Subaru won major automaker of the year.
The segregation in categories is a bit unusual, as Subaru only sold the Isuzu last year (sales 37,015 vs 35,735) despite having a much wider range.
