The Irish racing community is mourning the tragic death of Jack de Bromhead, the 13-year-old son of top diving coach Henry de Bromhead and his wife, Heather, following a death described as bizarre. at the Glenbeigh Horse and Horse Race in County Kerry on September 3.
As twin brother to Mia and older sibling in Georgia, Jack de Bromhead is already a familiar young face to racing fans, having appeared in various TV interviews such as Honeysuckle, A. Plus Tard, Minella Indo and Minella Times dominated because his father Waterford County was stable.

He is known as an agreeable and unassuming boy, frequently seen by his father at races, and has begun to forge his own career in horse and horse racing over the past few seasons. , make a big impression by riding a handful of winners this summer.
On Saturday, he took part in the historic event of the two-day Glenbeigh race on the Rossbeigh Strand in west Kerry.
It is understood de Bromhead was riding during the fifth race when his mount plunged into the sea as they rounded a bend and fell, landing on top of him. An air ambulance was called to assist the injured driver, but despite the best efforts of all emergency services, he died at the scene.
“A young man was treated at the scene after the incident but was later pronounced dead,” Gardai said of the accident.
“His body was moved to the morgue at the University of Kerry Hospital.”
The remainder of Saturday’s cards were dropped immediately, as were Sunday’s scheduled fixtures. This is the first time the Glenbeigh meeting has been held since the pandemic.
The devastating loss of the de Bromhead family comes at a time when Henry’s stables have dominated jump car racing’s most prestigious events. He sent Honeysuckle to win the last two Championship Hurdles at the Cheltenham Festival, where he has also won two Gold Cups previously with Minella Indo and A Plus Tard.
He and Rachael Blackmore have also combined to scale the sport’s highest peak, achieving a famous victory at the Grand National in 2021 with the Minella Times.
Funeral details have yet to be announced.
