Incidentally: Digital Foundry Says Switch ‘Last Of Us’ Clone Has “No Redemption Feature”

Do you remember earlier this month when people discovered that a blatant copy of Naughty Dog’s Our Last appeared on Switch eShop, lovely title Last Hope – Survival in the Dead Zone? At first glance, we didn’t think much of it — damn, the £0.99 price tag didn’t fill us with hope — but the tech experts at Digital foundry went a step further and really suffered play game.

In the store’s latest video, John Linneman puts Last Hope through its steps, and it’s fair to say it sucks. Really bad. In fact, Digital Foundry even went so far as to say it was “the worst game we’ve ever reviewed”, “didn’t have any redeemable features” — sorry.

So what is it about games that don’t work? Just about everything by the looks of things. In the video, Digital Foundry looks at everything from the frame rate (“everywhere”) to the number of props pulled from the Unity Asset Store. This doesn’t even mention the fact that the game often becomes invincible if you fall into certain situations, with the only way being a factory reset.

You’ll have to watch the full video above to get a complete picture of what the game has in store, but it’s fair to say that even at £0.99 this isn’t something to add. Wish list.
